Maplestime is a Canadian digital news and media publication reaching engaged readers across the country. We work with brands, agencies, and partners who want to connect with a Canadian audience in a way that respects both the reader and the brand.
This page lays out how we work with partners. If something here fits what you’re building, reach out at [email protected] and we’ll talk.
Who we reach
Maplestime audiences sit at the intersection of three groups Canadian marketers want to reach but often struggle to find in one place.
Connected urban Canadians. Young professionals in Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, and Ottawa, aged 25 to 38, working in tech, government, healthcare, and the professional services sector. They read on mobile, share on TikTok and Instagram, and make daily decisions about money, technology, and lifestyle.
Informed newcomers. Recent immigrants and permanent residents who turn to Canadian publications for clear, accurate information about how the country works. They share content heavily within community networks, especially through WhatsApp and Facebook. They are some of the most loyal readers in Canadian media.
Canadian wellness professionals. Educators, nurses, social workers, and public sector employees, aged 30 to 50, with strong interest in health policy, mental wellbeing, and balanced lifestyle content.
Together, these readers form a balanced, urban-leaning, financially active Canadian audience that values real journalism and supports the brands that show up alongside it.
What we offer
Display advertising
Standard banner placements across all Maplestime article and category pages. Available formats include leaderboard, in-article, sidebar, and sticky mobile units. Inventory is managed through Google AdSense and direct partnerships. For direct media buys, contact [email protected] for current rates and availability.
Sponsored content
We work with brands to create sponsored articles that fit naturally within our editorial categories: Canada news, technology, entertainment, wellness, and business and money. All sponsored content is clearly labelled and written to genuinely serve the reader, not just sell to them. Sponsored articles include a paid disclosure at the top, brand attribution, and links where appropriate.
We do not publish sponsored content that misleads readers, promotes harmful products, or compromises our editorial standards.
Newsletter sponsorship
The Maple Briefing is our daily newsletter delivered to subscribers across Canada. Newsletter sponsorship slots include a brand mention, short paragraph, and clickable link in a designated section. Open rates and click data are shared with sponsors after each campaign.
Brand partnerships
For brands looking to do more than a one-off placement, we offer longer-term partnership packages. These can include sponsored series, branded sections, co-created content, and integrated campaigns across our newsletter, social channels, and site.
We are selective about partnerships. We work with brands whose values align with the readers we serve.
Content services
For Canadian businesses, agencies, and startups that need help with their own content strategy, we offer a limited number of advisory and writing services each quarter. These include:
- Editorial strategy consultations
- SEO and content audits for existing websites
- Long-form article writing
- Content calendar planning
- Topical authority development for new sites
Content services are handled directly by Orex and reflect more than a decade of experience in editorial work and search-optimized publishing. Email [email protected] to discuss whether a project is a fit.
Press release distribution
Canadian companies, organizations, and PR teams can submit press releases for consideration. Press releases that meet our editorial standards may be covered as news stories. Paid placement options are also available for organizations that want guaranteed publication. Contact [email protected] for details.
Affiliate and product placement
Maplestime participates in select affiliate programs where the product fits naturally within our coverage areas. We recommend products we believe in. We disclose affiliate relationships clearly within articles. Brands interested in affiliate partnerships can reach out at [email protected].
How we work
Every partnership begins with a conversation. Send us a short note about your brand, your goals, and what you’re hoping to achieve. We respond within two business days.
If the fit is right, we share a media kit with audience data, ad specifications, and pricing. From there, we agree on scope, timing, and deliverables, then we execute. Reporting is provided at the end of every campaign.
We work with brands of all sizes. Some of our best partnerships are with small Canadian businesses and growing startups, not just large brands. If the alignment is there, we can usually find a package that works.
What we will not do
We say no to plenty of opportunities. Some lines are firm.
We will not run content that misleads readers about its commercial nature. We will not accept payment in exchange for positive editorial coverage. We will not work with brands in industries that conflict with our editorial values (predatory lending, harmful health products, anything targeting vulnerable readers with deceptive offers). We will not write fake reviews or fake testimonials.
A short conversation upfront saves both sides time. If you’re not sure whether your campaign fits, ask.
