* Carter Verhaeghe and Seth Jones assisted on the Reinhart goal.

## How The First Period Ended
The first period stayed scoreless for most of the frame, then Florida found the breakthrough late. Winnipeg took a penalty with 2 minutes and 2 seconds left in the period, and Reinhart scored on the power play with 1 minute and 45 seconds left.
That timing matters for Winnipeg. The Jets had held Florida off through the early chances, with Nico Daws in net for his first start for Winnipeg and Akira Schmid in net for Florida. One late penalty was enough to change the scoreboard before the intermission.
## What This Means For Winnipeg
Winnipeg came into this game on a seven game winless run at 0 wins, 5 losses and 2 overtime losses. The Jets lost 5 to 1 to these same Panthers in Winnipeg on October 27, and they lost 6 to 4 in Tampa on October 29 in the first game of this road trip.
Florida came into the night rested, at 7 wins, 4 losses and 2 overtime losses, after not playing since that win in Winnipeg on Tuesday. Winnipeg is playing its second game in two nights, so chasing a game again is the last thing this team needed.
## What To Watch Next
The next goal is the game for Winnipeg. An early second period equalizer would wipe out the late first period damage and give a tired team a fresh start. Another Florida goal would put Winnipeg in the same uphill climb it faced in Tampa, where it trailed 5 to 1 after two periods before a late push fell short.
