## Barron Goal Gives Winnipeg Life Late
Barron finished a snap shot with 11 minutes and 14 seconds left in the third period, and the assists went to Dawson Mercer and Dylan DeMelo. That goal turned a two goal Florida lead into a one goal game and gave Winnipeg a real chance in the closing minutes.
The timing mattered. Winnipeg had trailed 3 to 1 late in the second period after Seth Jones scored on the power play, and the Jets needed a fast start to the third just to stay in reach. Barron delivered it.
## Penalty Puts The Comeback On Hold
The momentum did not last long untouched. DeMelo, who assisted on the Barron goal, was called for tripping with 10 minutes and 25 seconds left in the third period. Florida went to work on the advantage while Winnipeg tried to kill the penalty and keep the score at 3 to 2.
That sequence sums up the night for Winnipeg so far. Every push forward has been followed by a Florida answer or a trip to the penalty box.
## How The Game Got To 3 To 2
Florida opened the scoring in the first period on a Sam Reinhart power play goal. Anton Lundell doubled the lead early in the second period. Kyle Connor answered on the power play for Winnipeg in the second period, before Seth Jones restored a two goal Florida lead on the power play late in the second.

## What Comes Next
Winnipeg needs one more goal to tie the game and force extra time. Florida needs to close out a game it has led for most of the night. With about 10 minutes left at last check, the next goal decides whether this becomes a famous Winnipeg comeback or another night added to the winless run.
