Marlies Strike First in the Rematch
Toronto opened the scoring at 5:48 of the first period through defenceman N. Chadwick, and that goal stood as the only one of the frame. The Moose outshot the Marlies 9-7 in the period but could not find an equalizer, and Toronto killed off the only power play of the period to protect the lead into the first intermission.
A Perfect Home Record on the Line
Manitoba came into Saturday night at 9-4-0-0 overall and unbeaten in five games at Canada Life Centre. Only the Abbotsford Canucks share that perfect home mark in the AHL this season. A loss tonight would end that run.
Friday night set the tone. Walker Duehr scored twice in his first home game of the season, including the winner 29 seconds into overtime, and Domenic DiVincentiis made 23 saves as the Moose beat the Marlies 2-1.
What Comes Next
The Moose close out their brief two-game homestand tonight. They head to Texas to face the Stars on November 10. Toronto sits at 7-4-2-0 and came to Winnipeg looking for payback after Friday’s overtime loss.
